About the Teacher: Mr. Wade attended Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina from 2000-2003 where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science. While at Brevard College Mr. Wade was a pitcher on the baseball team where he helped win 3 AAC Conference Championships, 2 Region XII Champions, and 1 Southeast Super Regional Championship. Mr. Wade also holds a Master's of Science Degree in Biology from North Carolina State University which he received in 2005. Mr. Wade Completed the Post-Baccalaureate program of Trade, Industrial and Technology Engineering Education from Lincoln Memorial University in the fall of 2008. Currently Mr. Wade is working on his Masters Degree in Education Administration from Tennessee Technological University. Mr. Wade is a Nationally Certified Soil Scientist and is a member of the National Society of Consulting Soil Scientists, as well as the US Consortium of Soil Science Associations. Before becoming a teacher Mr. Wade worked for the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources & Buncombe County Health Department as an Environmental Health Specialist working in the field of On-Site Wastewater. Prior to working for NCDENR Mr. Wade worked with the Federal Aviation Administration in conjunction with the Asheville Regional Airport Authority as an Airfield Operations and Maintenance Supervisor. Mr. Wade is in his fourth year of teaching at Norwood Middle School. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, archery, long range shooting, baseball, football, gardening, and spending time with his wife, Marcia.

About the Class: Mr. Wade teaches Technology Engineering principles to the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. In class you can expect to learn about the four major areas of technology: Transportation, Communication, Construction and Manufacturing. These principle areas are taught through project based learning and hands on activities. There are is also adequate use of computers and other innovative technologies.
